First Day of X'mas Light-up at Orchard Road

Today, we had a dinner with E Tern's Lao Gu at Commonwealth's Two Chefs Restuarant. Luckily, we were there early and only waited awhile. The queue was so long when we finished out meal. We ordered their signature dishes as what was recommended in the TV variety show. The dishes were quite delicious, and you should try them one day.

After that, we proceeded to Orchard Road to see the x'mas light-up. As we were there early and the lights were not up, we went Tanglin Mall first. At around 8pm, we went to the outside and saw the "snow" dropping atop the big X'mas tree. It was a pleasant surprise as we didn't expect the "snowing" to take place as well. So E Tern had his first "snowing" experience there.

Later, we drove through Orchard Road, which comprised of three different themes. The traffic was very heavy and it took us 30 minutes to reach the other end of Orchard Road.

That evening, we also drove through Marina Bay's light-up area, which is even more beautiful and glittering than Orchard Road.

It was very late. E Tern was too exhausted and fell asleep after watching the lightings.

2nd Day in Playgroup

On the second day, he was much better. I managed to take some photos of him as he was not as clingy.

He was able to play with the materials by himself. He even said "triangle" when playing with the triangular shape sorter. I like it that the students were taught to play with one material at a time. They have to keep the material before they can take another one to play with. E Tern is able to understand and follow this.

His favourite activity is Music and Movement. He was very shy in the beginning, quietly observing. But he got excited when the teacher sang "Wheels on the Bus". With some encouragement and pushing, he joined in the dancing towards the end. A Jie-jie from another class who joined E Tern's class during the Music and Movement session even hugged E Tern at the end of the class. So sweet.

I can see that he enjoyed himself in the class. Hope the playgroup will help to build up his social skills.

First Day in Playgroup

E Tern started his first playgroup on 2 November. It's a newly set-up Montessori school near our home.

We both took leave on that day to accompany him to school. One parent is allowed for the first few days and I stayed with him the first day. He was so clingy and sat on my lap most of the time. Overall, it went well. He was as usual very serious when he's in a new environment.

In the 2 hours there, there were some encounters. A little girl who kept coming to me to ask me to help her put on her bag. A student who had a running nose had somehow smeared his mucus onto the floor. I did not notice that until E Tern walked over and bent down to touch it. It was too late when I realised and he had touched it slightly. Yucks! Can't imagine what will happen if I'm not there to stop him.

November Splish Splash

Today, our dear son had another splish splash session at my brother's condo. As usual, he loves to play in the water and paddles excitedly in his little "car". Also, he managed to walk across the pool with my guidance. Perhaps, we should let him wear the float jacket and try to "swim". We saw a little boy wearing that that day, which we thought is pretty useful.

First Trip to Bird Park - Day 2

Yes, we revisited Jurong Bird Park on the Deepavali public holiday. That day, we managed to capture more photos and videos, and we routed in another direction. For this round, he managed to see white flamingos, big-mouthed pelicans, and graceful swams. Also, we took group photos at the "largest man-made" waterfalls at Afican Waterfall Aviary. In fact, we could not see much "Afican" birds there, maybe they are too small.

Though it was the second consecutive trip there, E Tern still enjoys the company of the birds, especially those with vibrant colours. Check out on the photos above.

First Trip to Bird Park - Day 1

Joseph managed to get the corporate pass for Jurong Bird Park. We planned to go there in 2 days, namely first day with E Tern's Nan Nan, and second day with E Tern's Ah Mah and Lao Gu.

To our surprise, E Tern seems to like visiting Bird Park more than Zoo. Perhaps, Jurong Birk Park is not as big as Singapore Zoo. So he is not easily tired out walking from one exhibit to the other one.

In the first walk-in exhibit - Southeast Asia Birds, a blue Crowned Pigeon amazingly escorted us around. E Tern must be feeling very honoured. Anyway, no one will expect a pigeon to be so blue, big and beautiful. Check up at the photos above:P

For E Tern, it was a great learning trip. He had learnt how a real flamingo looks like, got close to the lories(or parrots), saw real owl in the world of darkness and was impressed by how the pengiuns swim. Joseph managed to capture all these birds in photos as well as videos, so that E Tern can see them again and again. Today, he can recognise owl, flamingo, pengiun etc and not merely called them birds.

E Tern @ 20 months

We managed to capture some snapshots of our dearest son at 20 months old in a restaurant after a day's shopping at Centrepoint. Can spot any change in his look?
